PBE Europe Ltd specialises in the hire and/or sale of temporary electrical distribution equipment, along with communications and safety systems for the mining, tunnelling and construction industries. Standard products and services are as follows: cable services; cable couplers; containerised transformer substations and switchrooms up to 33kV; high voltage switchgear; low voltage distribution; turnkey electrical project solutions; CCTV; communications and safety systems; proximity alert and electronics; to the mining, tunnelling, resources, energy and infrastructure sectors throughout the world.

We are currently recruiting for a Project Engineer (Electrical) to oversee the installation, testing and commissioning, ongoing maintenance, emergency response, operational control and project management of our MV electrical plant and equipment.

Typical project work will include all aspects of the project, from initial enquiry, tendering, contracts and design engineering through to managing the delivery of services on time, on budget and in line with contract specification.

Reporting to the Operations Manager we are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join our team. Although based at our London office, the job occasionally requires travel throughout the UK and abroad.

Qualifications

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Design engineering including the production of single line diagrams, power load flow studies, protection studies and technical manuals
  • Preparation of tenders for the supply of electrical products and services
  • Project management of contracts and services
  • To oversee all engineering aspects of our projects on-site
  • The management of on-site installation and commissioning works
  • To control costs and meet project deadlines
  • Problem solving and providing technical & hands on support
  • To build and maintain customer relationships

An electrical engineering background with the relevant tertiary qualifications is essential. Previous experience in the tunnelling and/or construction industry is also desirable, as you will need to understand the technical components of each project along with the commercial aspects. Knowledge of ERACS (or similar) as well as communications systems software would be beneficial.

You will need to be organised, be able to plan ahead, coordinate and prioritise your workload. You will also be results focused with exceptional interpersonal skills and a proactive customer focused approach.
