PCB assembly—thru-hole and small to medium surface mount
PBE has the ability to build all types of printed circuit boards. We can build in volume or in small quantities. Only the most skilled operators are used because of the varied criteria required in printed circuit board assembly. These are some of the tools and processes used at PBE:
• Microprocessor controlled Solderability Tester
• Z wave solder machine
• Pick and place surface mount and related equipment
• Conformal coating
• ESS screening
• ESD (electrostatic discharge system)
PBE’s manufacturing and quality engineers work with production supervisors as a team, in writing the manufacturing instructions and building the necessary tooling and fixtures required to meet the tight tolerances required on the drawings. Our engineers do in-process checks to assure all requirements are being met. A first article is performed by quality inspectors and engineers before being submitted to our clients.
Testing of cable assemblies is accomplished by one or more of the following:
• Cable scans
• Hand bugging with multi-meters
• Cirrus computerized continuity and hi-pot testers
Wiring Harness Assembly
PBE has the ability to build all types of branched wiring harnesses. We can build in volume or in small quantities. We can build complex assemblies requiring shields, broom stitching, exact lacing, or whatever you require. In addition to layout of the actual harness, PBE is capable of other operations such as coating or encapsulating. Some of the machinery PBE uses:
- TMS computerized marking systems
- Thermal strippers
- Sophisticated crimping tools
- Pull test gages
PBE has the capability to produce electro/mechanical assemblies. The ability to interpret a drawing or specification to produce a satisfactory end item or subassembly is one of our greatest strengths.

Coatings meeting MIL-I-46058C are used and special formulated coating compounds are used where required. Freezing unused coating to -40 degrees Fahrenheit ensures that waste is kept to a minimum, saving our clients’ money.
- Temperature controlled to 70 degrees +/- 2 degrees Fahrenheit
- Humidity controlled to less than 50%
- Spray or dip processes
- LFI vertical laminar air flow work stations
- Ultra-violet light or scope inspections
